“Breaking the Silence” with Safina Kimbokota (TZ) Beyond the joy often associated with pregnancy lies another reality many Tanzanian mothers face. In this special session, metal sculptor, textile artist, and researcher Safina Kimbokota shares the creative journey behind her exhibition Folded Memory of Whispering Leso. Through personal research and collaborative workshops with pregnant women and mothers in Dar es Salaam, Safina explores visibility, care, and the untold experiences of motherhood through installations such as Inception and the Whispering Leso Tapestry.
