Chudo Master (TZ) Litungu Blues T-Africa (TZ) Contemporary Dance Experience a special Marafiki Pop-Up edition of Jumatano Groove featuring an evening of both live music and contemporary dance. Taking the stage is Chudo Master, a Tanzanian musician and percussionist known for his unique “Litungu Blues” sound, blending traditional East African rhythms with Delta and Louisiana blues influences. A dynamic live performer and sought-after percussionist, Chudo brings soulful grooves and rich musical storytelling shaped by collaborations and festival appearances across East Africa and beyond. The night will also feature a powerful dance performance titled “Suffering” by T-Africa. Through expressive contemporary movement, the piece explores struggle, oppression, perseverance, and the loneliness that can come with chasing one’s dreams.

Boniface Kilosa, popularly known as BoniLuv, Papa Luv, or Scratch Master, is a renowned DJ and music producer from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He played a key role in shaping Tanzania’s DJ and music production scene through his work with Mawingu Disco Tech and Studios during the 1980s and 1990s. With experience in DJing, sound engineering, music programming, and commercial production, BoniLuv has worked with numerous notable Tanzanian artists including Lady Jay Dee, AY, Mister Ebbo, and many others. He also credits much of his growth to his years at Clouds FM, where he served as both director and presenter.

Offenbach et les Trois Empereurs (FR) For a special edition of Jumatano Groove, experience Offenbach et les Trois Empereurs, a lively and sparkling evening of music, theatre, and French operatic charm. Written and directed by Christophe Barbier, this acclaimed production revisits the world of celebrated composer Jacques Offenbach through humour, storytelling, live piano, and unforgettable soprano performances. Blending excerpts from iconic operas such as La Vie Parisienne, La Belle Hélène, and Orphée aux Enfers, the performance is a joyful celebration of wit, spectacle, and the timeless power of music to bring people together. A truly pétillant night of French cultural theatre awaits. This will be a very special seated performance, and audiences are encouraged to arrive on time as the show will begin promptly and run for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. After the performance, the evening continues with a DJ set by the Hijab DJ to keep the atmosphere alive.
